I can learn outside the classroom too.

So, as I mentioned before, my brother decided to take a week off from work and come visit Hong Kong. He's been here before, but it felt a little different with me already having been here for 2.5 months. With the other family members occupied, the both of us decided to head down to Tsim Sha Tsui and visit the museums located there. We went on Wednesday because the museums have free admission that day. Don't tell my professor, but I did skip my one class that day, however, in my defense I did learn a great deal about other things.

Hong Kong Museum of Art

First up, we checked out some of the Chinese art on display. There were a lot of nice and interesting pieces, but a couple of the exhibits were closed. Don't really remember all the descriptions for the pieces, but you can just appreciate how they look.

Those are airplane propellers.

Me with some flying things.

Underglaze blue wares of the late Ming dynasty.

A guardian of something. Don't remember.

Some cool looking beast.

There were a number of sculptures located outside and around the museum as well.

Me and the bro, with central Hong Kong in the background.

Flying Frenchman.

Hong Kong Space Museum

This was located right next to the museum of art. There was some interesting stuff about space travel and the surrounding planets. However, there wasn't a whole lot in the museum, and we went through all of it pretty fast. There was a room that let you simulate walking around on the moon, but I was too big. Sorry, no pictures from here.

Hong Kong Science Museum

This museum was pretty big and had a lot of different exhibits. We probably spent the most time in here. A lot kids there, but we managed to have fun too.

Big Cathy Pacific plane hanging in the middle of the museum.

The optical illusions exhibit. See the face in the drawing?

Are the two tables the same size?

The mirror illusions section. Which is the real me?

Our backs.

The camera isn't pointed at us!?

Us looking off into the distance.

Too big for the room. Maybe we can play in the NBA now.

So many of us.

Dinosaur bones!

My BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich from Anthony's Ranch in Sai Kung. Yum...
