Ocean Park

I know I'm a little behind on the posts, but I'm trying to catch up. A little over a week ago I went with some friends to Ocean Park. It's sort of an amusement park/zoo; with rides, games, exhibits, and shows. Fortunately for us, that day turned out to be nice and sunny. The park is actually quite big, with an upper and lower area connected by a cable car ride and also the Ocean Express ("a multi-sensory ride", sort of like a tram). The upper half has most of the rides and water shows/animals. The lower half has the rest of the animal exhibits.

One of two main entrances.

View from the top of Ocean Park. The surrounding scenery was really nice. The park is next to the ocean, so on some of the roller coasters you get a great view of the ocean.

Riding down in the cable car. A very enjoyable ride, although we rode this later in the afternoon and by then the weather had gotten a little gloomy.

Red Pandas being fed.

A Giant Panda! I believe this is Ying Ying. She's just lying there eating.

This is Le Le. He wasn't very social that day. Just sat there with his back to everyone.

I was within arms length of a Giant Panda and only separated by a wall of plexiglass.

But basically all they do is eat...and eat...

If you don't believe me, here's a video of Ying Ying eating.

And to cap it off, there was a little aquarium with very interesting looking goldfish. This one has very big cheeks.

And this one has a big red thing on its head.

Overall an enjoyable day out just enjoying the weather and rides. This was actually my first time seeing a panda in real life, so it was an exciting experience. Even young adults like us were able to have a fun time.
